Meg 2: The Trench (2023) is a science fiction action film directed by Ben Wheatley and the sequel to The Meg (2018), based on Steve Alten's novel The Trench. The film stars Jason Statham, Wu Jing, Sophia Cai, Cliff Curtis, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, and Skyler Samuels, following a team of scientists as they face giant megalodons and a dangerous deep-sea mining operation in a battle for survival.
